Founded in Paris in 1991 by Dr. Sandra Hindman, Les Enluminures has been a leading dealer in medieval and Renaissance art for more than three decades. The gallery currently maintains locations in Paris and Chicago: its Paris gallery is in the historic Palais-Royal, and its Chicago gallery is on North Michigan Avenue.

Specializing in manuscripts and miniatures from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Les Enluminures also handles rings and jewelry from the same periods. The gallery organizes four or five exhibitions each year, some in collaboration with other dealers and contemporary artists, some traveling to other locations, often accompanied by scholarly catalogues. Clients of the gallery include the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, as well as many other institutional and private clients worldwide.
