The McCormick Gallery is focused on exhibiting American painting and sculpture. By representing numerous artist estates, the gallery's focus is on mid-century abstract expressionism, however it also specializes in color field painting, landscape painting, collage and works on paper. The gallery is noted for specializing in female abstract expressionist painters. Additionally the gallery has a small but focused contemporary program that centers on showing painters and sculptors living and working in the Chicago area.

About Thomas McCormick Gallery
Thick As Thieves

September 10 – October 30, 2026

Thick As Thieves is my third solo exhibition with McCormick Gallery and the first time I am showing this new body of work, made with thick layers of paint squeezed directly from the tube. My work remains deeply rooted in my connection to family, memory, and the small rituals of everyday life. Like my earlier paintings, these works are playful, colorful, and bold. Throughout the exhibition, the rectangle appears as a central focal point. It may function as a window, a portal, a question, or perhaps an answer to a problem not yet solved. As the paintings build layer by layer, these forms become spaces of possibility: familiar, mysterious, and still unfolding.
